Last October, Siwoo played in the school badminton tournament. He practiced hard for weeks and felt ready. In the final match, he played against Nora, a fast and calm player. Siwoo won the first game easily, but then he made many mistakes. He lost the next two games and the match. After the match, he threw his racket on the floor and walked out of the gym.

That night, Siwoo could not sleep. He said to his older sister, Hayeon, "I am bad at badminton. I want to quit." Hayeon answered, "Don't say that. You lost only one match. Don't think about the score. Think about your mistakes and learn from them."

The next morning, Siwoo went to Coach Miller and said sorry about the racket. The coach smiled and gave him some advice. "Don't hurry at the net," he said. "Watch the shuttlecock until the end."

After that, Siwoo changed his attitude. He came to the gym early every morning and practiced for an hour. After each practice, he wrote down one mistake in a notebook. The next day, he worked on that mistake. Sometimes he still lost, but he did not get angry anymore.

In the spring, Siwoo played against Nora again. He lost again, but this time the score was very close. After the match, he shook hands with Nora and smiled. "You played much better today," she said. Siwoo learned that a loss can be a new start.
